Pulled threads can be caused in a number a ways including pets, child’s toy and moving furniture. These start off looking like a single thread raised above the pile but over time the thread unravels and can pull a line as long as two to three meters in length. This can also happen with vacuuming as the brush catches the small pull. Pulled threads need early attention to prevent further damage.
The best way to repair a pulled thread and prevent further unraveling is to cut out the damaged area including at least one row either side of the pull, seal all cut edges and insert a new piece of existing matching carpet (usually sourced from the floor inside a wardrobe at the property).
The carpet insert is bonded with special tape using radio wave technology to weld it in place and have it last the life time of the carpet. Professional cleaning, vacuuming and everyday use will not dislodge the insert.
